How the Society Is Run
A professional society earns trust through structure, independence, and transparency. These are the commitments that govern our work.
The CKM Prevention Society is directed by a Board of Directors and operated day to day through standing committees composed of volunteer members drawn from cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology, primary care, pharmacy, nursing, public health, and patient advocacy. The Society is an initiative of Twinepidemic Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and shares its fiduciary oversight while maintaining its own programs, leadership, and identity.
During the founding phase, governance documents — bylaws, committee charters, disclosure policy, and the code of conduct — are being finalized with input from the founding network. They will be published on this page as they are ratified.

Standing Committees
Executive Committee
Sets strategy, oversees finances and risk, and represents the Society externally between board meetings.
Education & CME Committee
Owns curriculum design, needs assessment, faculty selection, accreditation compliance, and outcomes measurement.
Scientific Programme Committee
Plans summits and forums, reviews abstracts, and maintains the scientific integrity of all programming.
Membership & Community Committee
Defines member benefits, chapter development, mentorship, and trainee engagement.
Partnerships & Development Committee
Reviews sponsorship and philanthropic relationships against the Society's independence standards.
Equity & Global Health Committee
Ensures programming addresses underserved populations and is adaptable across health systems.

Policies That Protect Our Members
Conflict of Interest
Annual and activity-level disclosure for every director, committee member, faculty member, and author, with mitigation before participation.
Educational Independence
Supporters fund; the Society decides. Content, faculty, and assessment remain under committee control at all times.
Code of Conduct
A shared standard of respect and professionalism at every meeting and online forum, with a confidential reporting pathway.
Content & Citation Policy
Educational claims are traceable to peer-reviewed evidence or published guidelines and are reviewed before release.
Diversity in Faculty
Panels and author groups are reviewed for disciplinary, geographic, career-stage, and demographic balance.
Data Protection
Member and registrant data is collected minimally, stored securely, and never sold; processing follows applicable privacy law.

Governance Questions
Who governs the Society?
The Society is directed by a Board of Directors with an Executive Committee, supported by standing committees for education, scientific programming, membership, and partnerships. It operates as an initiative of Twinepidemic Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
How is educational independence protected?
Educational content, faculty selection, and scientific programming are controlled by the Society's education and scientific committees. Commercial supporters may fund activities but have no role in content development, speaker selection, or assessment.
How are conflicts of interest handled?
All board members, committee members, faculty, and authors submit annual disclosures and update them before each activity. Relevant relationships are mitigated before participation and disclosed to learners at the point of delivery.
Are contributions tax-deductible?
The Society operates under Twinepidemic Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; donors receive written acknowledgment for their records.
