Glossary
CKM Terminology
eGFR — estimated glomerular filtration rate, the calculated measure of kidney filtering capacity, reported in mL/min/1.73 m².
UACR — urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio, the standard test for albuminuria and one of the earliest markers of both kidney and cardiovascular risk.
MASLD — metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, the hepatic manifestation of the same metabolic dysregulation seen in CKM.
HFpEF — heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, strongly associated with obesity, diabetes, and kidney disease.
Primordial prevention — preventing risk factors from developing at all, the goal of CKM stage 0 care.
Social drivers of health — the economic and environmental conditions that shape access, adherence, and outcomes across the CKM continuum.
